We are always improving
At BEAMVetCare, getting better is never finished. It runs through how the team is trained and supported, how each practice is run, how patients are handled and what clients experience. Two outside programs check part of that work independently: AAHA accreditation and Fear Free certification.

AAHA accreditation
Accreditation by the American Animal Hospital Association is voluntary. An outside evaluator visits the practice, assesses it against a published set of standards, and comes back periodically to check again.
What gets inspected

What it means day to day
Anesthetic monitoring, pain management and surgery follow written protocols, and the team is trained against them. Equipment such as dental radiography, the in-house lab and digital imaging is maintained on a schedule, and medical records are kept to a defined standard and reviewed.

Fear Free certification
Martha Lake, Cedar Plaza and The Family Pet are enrolled in Fear Free Veterinary Practice Certification and working through the standards and team training. Certification has not been granted yet.
What Fear Free is
An approach to care built around reducing fear, anxiety and stress during a visit: a considerate approach, gentle handling, species-appropriate restraint, and pre-visit medication when that is the kinder option.
Why it matters
A frightened pet is harder to examine and treat, and more likely to be hurt or to hurt the people handling it. Low-stress handling is a clinical skill and a safety measure, and we teach it rather than assume it.
